Brunch at The COOP, Winter Park, Florida

If you have seen any of our Orlando vlogs you will know that we are huge fans of the amazing 4 Rivers Smokehouse. When we heard that the team behind 4 Rivers also owned another restaurant we were very excited to check it out!

The COOP is a neighbourhood restaurant celebrating the home-style fare of the South and as the name suggests they specialise in Southern Fried Chicken. They go on to say;

'Serving up hospitality at every table, Chef/Owner John Rivers offers comfort food classics made from scratch daily. Passed-down recipes and seasonal ingredients come together in the form of iconic dishes from Southern Fried Chicken, Low Country Shrimp & Grits to Mississippi Mud and Lemon Icebox pies'

We love to try new brunch spots in the Orlando area so we headed to The COOP for a late breakfast on a beautiful May morning to sample the wares. We arrived around 11.30am and luckily the place was reasonably quiet as we hit right on the breakfast/lunch crossover period.
The COOP is a counter service restaurant, much in the same vein as 4 Rivers, so we took a look at the menu to see what we fancied! Me and Mimi decided to share two breakfast options so that we could have a taste of some different options. We selected the poached eggs, toast, bacon and breakfast potatoes as well as the red velvet waffle which came with a whipped cream topping. Mr P opted for his usual eggs benedict so that he could compare it to the other eggs benedict he had sampled on our trip so far. We all went for coffee which was self service and bottomless. There were even takeout cups so that you could drink your fill and take a cup with you to enjoy on your travels.
Breakfast orders are placed at the counter and your food is brought to your table by one of The COOP's extremely helpful and welcoming staff. Our plate consisted of 3 poached eggs (cooked to perfection with runny yolks), a huge helping of their deliciously seasoned breakfast potatoes, 2 pieces of wheat toast and crispy bacon. We polished off this plate and then dove into the utterly gorgeous red velvet waffle that was drizzled with frosting and finished with whipped cream.
All of the meals we selected were absolutely delicious and Mr P declared that the eggs benedict was his favourite so far and awarded it 9.5/10 on the Mr P food rating scale! Praise indeed!
We had a delicious and filling brunch at The COOP and as we left we promised that we would return soon.....this time to sample their delicious looking fried chicken and mashed potatoes!......YUM!

Love Elle and Mimi x

You will find The COOP at 610 West Morse Blvd, Winter Park, Florida and their website and menu can be found here.

Have you been to The COOP? Did you enjoy it as much as we did?
