Lunch at Dexter's and Exploring Lake Eola

I am making it my mission to explore as much of my new home town of Orlando as I can when I have free time at the weekend! This past weekend it was the turn of Lake Eola in the Downtown Orlando area. We chose Dexter's of Orlando as our lunch location as we had heard great things about the food there.

There are four Dexter's locations in the area but we headed for the Thornton Park restaurant as we wanted to check out the surrounding area of Lake Eola while we were there. We were seated quickly and after perusing the menu I ordered the Grilled Mahi Salad $16 and Andy opted for the Pressed Duck Sandwich $15.

Both were delicious and perfect for light and pretty healthy lunch! Once we had eaten we headed out to explore the area.

There are some beautiful sights in the Lake Eola Park area in the heart of Downtown Orlando. The lake makes for a perfect walk (or run if you are feeling energetic!) and if you are looking for some fun you can even hire a swan shaped paddle boat!

We had a perfect day out at Lake Eola and will most certainly be back to try some more of the many great restaurants in the area.

Let me know if you go to explore Lake Eola and make sure you get your photo taken with the giant swan mural before you leave!
