We are huge fans of the many Universal Orlando Hotels and the newest addition to their portfolio is Aventura Hotel which opened its doors in August 2018. Of course, we couldn't wait to try it out! We checked into Aventura in October 2018, just 2 months after its grand opening and we are excited to give you the lowdown on this brand new hotel conveniently situated right on Universal Orlando property.
Where is it?
Aventura is directly opposite Cabana Bay Beach Resort and right next door to Loews Sapphire Falls.
What is the theme?
The theme is sleek, minimalist and high tech.
Do they have food?
On the ground floor there is a ‘food court’ with multiple food options:
We sampled the chicken stir fry which was delicious! The pizza on offer was thin based with tasty toppings, we had this more than once! The gelato bar had numerous flavours to choose from and the ones we sampled were delicious. We also sampled the tiramisu which was very moorish and very tasty!
- Noodle bar serving ramen bowls and stir fry (selected by you and made to order)
- Burger bar and fries
- Breakfast bar (morning only)
- Roast and veggies (evening only)
- Pizza, made to order
- Gelato and dessert bar

Is there a pool?
There is a pool but it is quite small compared to the pools available at the neighbouring hotels; Cabana Bay and Sapphire Falls. If you are planning lots of family pool days, the pool at Aventura is probably not for you.
How are the rooms?
We loved the rooms! They were sleek and modern with an iPad controlling the lighting, television and air temperature. We also ordered room service on the iPad one evening and our pizza arrived piping hot just 10 minutes later! The beds were comfortable and the bathroom and vanity area was bright and clean with plenty of room for our products!
We’ve heard there is a rooftop bar!
Yes! There is an amazing bar on the 17th floor selling great cocktails. It has a fabulous view of the surrounding areas.
Is there transport to the parks?
Is there transport to the parks?
The Universal bus runs from the hotel to the park every 10-15 mins and is very efficient. If you take a stroll to Sapphire Falls (5 minutes walk) you can also jump on the water taxi to Citywalk for a more scenic journey.
Any car parking facilities?
There is a multi story parking garage on site with elevators that take you directly into the hotel lobby (no getting wet if it’s raining when you arrive back at the hotel!). The parking charges are $12 plus tax per night.
Who is the target customer?
We’ve thought long and hard about this. Our conclusion is this: Aventura feels very much like a ‘adult’ hotel. The lack of fun theming and small pool will probably not attract families once the initial interest wears off. Aventura and Cabana Bay are currently in the same price bracket and marketed as a more ‘budget’ Universal Hotel. However, if you have children Cabana Bay is a much more child friendly option (we have a full review of Cabana Bay here). Cabana Bay offers fun retro theming, 2 great pools, a lazy river, a water slide and lots more that will appeal to families with young to teenage children. Aventura has a more ‘grown up’ minimal feel and would appeal more to vacationing adults.
Would you go back?
Absolutely! We'd go back in a heartbeat! In fact, as child free travellers it may be our new favourite hotel on Universal property! Check out our YouTube Room Tour and Hotel Tour linked below!
