We are always excited to try a new drugstore, affordable foundation and as Bourjois have some of our favourite drugstore products we were very keen to try out their new Air Mat Foundation. We picked it up in two shades 01 Rose Ivory and 02 Vanilla.

As we are a fan of lighter coverage base products for a day time look (tinted moisturisers etc) we weren't sure we would get on with this foundation! The word Mat scared us a little due to our current obsession with glowy highlighted skin. However we were very wrong! It comes in a squeezy tube so no mess and no waste and its easy to control how much product you need.
We simply dotted the foundation all over and used a beauty blender to blend it in. It blended perfectly and we really loved the finish! It is a medium coverage that could definitely be built up if you desired and in our opinion isn't that matte on the skin. Mimi found that the shade 01 Rose Ivory worked perfect for her skin tone although when swatched in Boots she wasn't going to purchase it because the colour looked so off! The second shade 02 Vanilla worked perfectly for Elle's slightly deeper skin tone. Although we are both pretty pale ladies! It only seems to be available in 5 shades in Boots at the moment so not a great deal of choice but hopefully more will be introduced and we have heard that the full range is actually 9 shades.
So far this has replaced our Nars tinted moisturiser as our go to daily base! If you have dry skin don't be put off by the Mat name. It really isn't at all drying. We would definitely recommend giving this new foundation a try. It is currently available in Boots for £9.99.
