CoverGirl Katy Kat Matte Review and Swatches

Having long been a fan of CoverGirl Cosmetics we were looking forward to getting our hands on their new collaboration with Katy Perry while we were in the USA last month. CoverGirl are one of our favourite drugstore beauty brands and its such a shame that they are not available in the UK however when we are in the US we always raid the shelves for some new additions to their range.

The Katy Perry collaboration consists of 11 Katy Kat Matte lipsticks and a waterproof and non waterproof mascara. We didn't see any of the mascaras during our visit but we were able to pick up three of the lipsticks in Pink Paws, Magenta Minx and Coral Cat at Walgreens.

The shade names are all cat themed and they come in a matte white tube with black writing. The lipstick shade and the name is clearly displayed on the bottom of the tube making it easy to pick the shade you want out of your lipstick collection in a hurry! The formula is described as 'demi matte' which is a winner as far as I'm concerned as I hate to feel anything drying on the lips. It doesn't cling to any dry patches and feels very comfortable to wear. The pigmentation is great and once applied the colour lasted a good 4-5 hours without me feeling the need to touch it up.

My favourite so far is Coral Cat which is a beautiful bright coral which is perfect for summer. I wore it so much in Florida as it looked great in the sunshine with a tan! Pink Paws is a soft rose pink and Magenta Minx a deeper pink and both have fantastic pigmentation and staying power.

So far I have been very impressed with the new Katy Kat Matte lipsticks and would definitely consider getting more when we next visit the USA. CoverGirl Cosmetics rarely release a bad product and I'm happy to say the winning streak continues with the Katy Kat Matte range!
