Collection Primed & Ready Range

The Collection Primed & Ready Range
Affordable drugstore brand Collection have recently released a new, (ahem) collection, of primers that go by the name 'Primed & Ready'. We are always interested to test out new primers and of course we had to pick up the entire range to test out and review.

As huge fans of the Benefit Porefessional (in our humble opinion one of the best primers on the market) we were very keen to see how the Collection primers measured up.

The range of primers cover every priming need from eye priming to pore minimising to illuminating both warm and cool skintones. Furthermore the are incredible value for money. At just £4.99 each that's a fraction of the cost of our fave Benefit primer.
Primed & Ready Reviving & Anti-Fatigue Illuminating Primer
These primers come with a choice of two - Warm Apricot for warm skin tones and Cool Rose for cool skin tones. It claims to be 'a sheer, crème-liquid that perfects and primes skin before make-up application with ultra-fine light-reflecting pearls for a soft, natural glow' Both shades have a very slight but subtle shimmer that give a glow but do not look sparkly or over the top. Used under foundation the still allow for a gentle, subtle glow to show through although I did not particulary notice a change in my skin tone as a result of using the product.
Primed & Ready Mattifying Pore Minimiser
I have been concious of my pores ever since a kindly (but not too tactful) young lady trying to sell me foundation at the Chanel counter told me I had 'large pores'. I am constantly seeking products to fill in my giant pores! (possible slight exaggeration). Therefore this was the product that interested me the most. The gel contains Witch Hazel (a natural antibacterial ingredient) so it should also be kind to blemish prone and fussy skin too. It claims to 'prolong make-up wear while mattifying shine-prone skin. Well, my skin is on the dry side although throughout the day I do get a little oily on the T-zone. The primer has a silicone like texture on application and it definitely does seem to fill in larger pores and assist in the application of foundation. I didnt notice a huge difference in the wear of my foundation throughout the day but it did stay put while I was at work and was still holding on when I got home that evening.
Primed & Ready Eye Primer
Affordable Eye Primers are few and far between and there is a definite gap in the market. This is a gel style primer and is very cooling when applied to the lids. You only need a tiny bit of product to cover the whole lid so we can see this lasting forever! It did a great job of holding both cream and powder eyeshadow in place during a full working day (7.30am til 6.30pm). It certainly performed as well as our other holy grail (albeit much more pricey eye primer) the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.
We were pretty impressed with the new Primed & Ready range from Collection and would certainly recommend you check the products out if you are in the market for affordable primers! Let us know how you get on!
Love Elle and Mimi
